Ashiq JABIR

Dr Ashiq Jabir will commence with our Team in October 2021 as Spine Surgery Fellow, training under Dr Ashish Diwan. 2021-2022. Dr Jabir completed his undergraduate medical training at Manipal University in India. After completion he returned to Sri Lanka where he worked some time as a Resident Medical Officer, and then moved to the UK where he undertook further postgraduate training in orthopaedics and spine surgery.

Currently, he is pursuing spine surgery fellowships in Australia with the aim of ultimately returning to Sri Lanka to set up his own practice. His interests encompass all areas of the spine from the occiput to sacrum including tumour, trauma, deformity and degenerative conditions in adults and children.

Within his position as Spine Fellow with Spine Service he will be wholly committed to furthering his knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patient’s spinal conditions.

With research being an integral part of his Spine Fellowship, Ashiq’s research will focus on … (to be determined)
