Dr Bojiang Shen

Bojiang Shen is a Senior Scientist in Spine Service at George Hospital, and a Senior Lecturer at St George & Sutherland Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine, the University of New South Wales. She studied Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science at the Shandong University, China. She received Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Wurzburg, Germany in 1996, working on the molecular recognition during binding of Interleukin-4 to its receptors. She did her post-doctoral work in the Faculty of Physiology and Pharmacology, the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. Afterwards, she has been working as a medical scientist in universities and university hospitals for 20 years in Australia, completing projects in the fields of orthopaedic and stem cell research.

Bojiang joined in Spine Service 3 years ago, focusing on research in development of biological therapy for degenerative disc diseases, such as intradiscal injection of GDF6.

She has authored or co-authored more than 40 publications.
